Career
Simon qualified in 1982 and is involved in a variety of dispute resolution cases, including in the fields of intellectual property, the construction industry, shareholding and partnership disputes, property disputes and general commercial contractual disputes.
Simon has achieved substantial settlements for shareholders in private limited companies who have suffered unfair prejudice from other shareholders.
He was involved in the case that established that circuit diagrams were entitled to copyright protection as literary works (Anacon Corporation Ltd. -v- Environmental Research Technology Ltd.).
He has successfully established claims against directors in breach of their fiduciary duties. He has also recovered £800,000 from a client's insurer who initially disclaimed liability on a claim under an insurance policy in a substantial engineering product liability case.
Simon is also responsible for Heald's internal indemnity insurance and risk management affairs.

Simon is a keen equestrian and works hard to improve his abilities in the riding disciplines of showjumping, cross-country and dressage.
