Nick Crook
Non-Practising Consultant
Corporate & Commercial

Nick is a highly experienced lawyer with a career that has been wide-ranging in scope, initially dealing with claims and domestic legal matters and some years working as a legal advisor for a technology company. This broad experience has enabled Nick to bring perspective and understanding to his clients’ issues and to work with them to achieve lasting results.

Nick helps his clients by preparing, explaining and negotiating commercial contracts; advising on and drafting employment documents; setting up corporate structures and preparing shareholders agreements. He has specialist expertise in commercial contract drafting and advice, endeavouring to agree simple, plain English but comprehensive contracts that clients can understand and work with.

He has worked with many of my clients for over 10 years and new clients have most often come by recommendation from existing ones. His clients span many industries but he has a particular reputation working in the technology and manufacturing sectors.

“I have always tried to understand the business and concerns of my clients and to work with them to achieve clear results that meet their needs” Nick Crook

Some examples of Nick’s work

  • Nick recently worked with a client who had issues with an underperforming sole distributor for one of its territories. The distributor was known to be sensitive as to its failings and inclined to be litigious but it still had strengths to offer. Nick structured an approach so that the distributor accepted a downgrade to non-exclusive status so that others could work alongside them in the same territory. The distributor’s confidence in their own sphere of ability was maintained and Nick’s client avoided costly and time-consuming litigation.

Nick’s Qualifications

  • Nick has a law degree and masters from Lincoln College Oxford.

  • Nick qualified as a solicitor in 1976 but is now non practicing.

It’s not all about work

Nick retired from motorcycle racing in the early 1990s to give himself more time for cycling and he also build bikes and cycle wheels. He is a keen choral singer and enjoys spending time with his wife and three grown up daughters.
