Private Client Solicitor

We are seeking a committed and experienced Private Client Solicitor to join our well‑established Private Client team. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload including Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, Tax Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection matters. This reflects common responsibilities seen in comparable roles across the UK private client market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, preparing and executing Wills and Codicils.
  • Advising on and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
  • Handling Probate applications, Grants of Probate/Letters of Administration, and full estate administration.
  • Advising on and administering Trusts, including lifetime trusts and post death arrangements.
  • Providing inheritance tax, capital gains tax and general estate planning advice.
  • Supporting and advising elderly clients in a sensitive and professional manner.
  • Maintaining excellent client care and communication, ensuring all work complies with regulatory and firm standards.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and maintaining strong referrer relationships.

Candidate Attributes

  • Qualified Solicitor (ideally 5+ PQE) or CILEX Fellows.
  • Experience across a broad range of Private Client matters including Wills, Probate, LPAs and Trusts.
  • STEP qualification beneficial but not essential (reflective of market expectations).
  • Experience of HNW clients.
  • Strong technical ability, excellent communication skills, and a client focused approach.
  • Ability to manage an independent caseload with minimal supervision.
