Some examples of Kirsti’s work
- Kirsti has provided tax planning, will drafting, and Lasting Power of Attorney advice for several business owners who wanted to make provision for their families during their lifetimes and provide adequate protection if they pass away.
- Kirsti advised an executor regarding an estate in which the deceased was a sole trader, and her whole family worked in the business. With her assistance, the business continued under new management, and its assets were transferred either to the deceased’s Will trust or to the beneficiaries of the estate, who were now managing the business. During this process, Kirsti worked with the business accountants to ensure that all tax matters (business, personal for the deceased, and personal for the beneficiaries) were addressed in a timely manner. This led to wider advice being given to the beneficiaries regarding their personal affairs.
- Kirsti has provided support and guidance to several young adults regarding the estates of their late parents. This included advice on homemade wills, inheritance tax, intestacy rules, and the appointment of a co-administrator when a minor beneficiary was involved.
- Kirsti has advised various clients on lifetime trusts and the administration/implications of those trusts.
