On November 10, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting a Farming and Inheritance Tax (IHT) Seminar at the Buckingham Golf Club, where farmers and landowners from the region came together for an engaging and informative day. The atmosphere was lively, filled with discussions on the important changes in inheritance tax that will affect the agricultural community.

As we dove into the major reforms announced by Rachel Reeves in October 2024, it was clear these changes are set to have a significant impact. With a new £1 million cap on Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief, along with an IHT threshold frozen until 2030, many attendees realised how crucial it is to rethink their succession plans for family-run farms, especially those in the Home Counties, East Anglia, and the Midlands.

This event only reinforced the commitment of Heald Solicitors and Chandler Ray Solicitors to being a reliable partner for farmers and rural businesses as they navigate the intricate landscape of inheritance and agricultural law.

The attendees left with a deeper understanding on how strategic legal advice can safeguard their farms and families. They gained valuable insights into the importance of accurately valuing assets, reviewing ownership structures, and planning for succession with the help of our knowledgeable agricultural solicitors. It was a meaningful discussion that highlighted how these elements can make a real difference in their livelihoods and legacies.
